- Parts lookup returning nothing The first three digits of the model number name the manufacturer. Give us the whole number.
- Washer moving on spin Suspension rods on the Whirlpool-built machines, dampers on the LG-built ones. Not interchangeable.
- Refrigerator warm The diagnostic route depends entirely on who built it, which is why guessing costs more here than measuring.
Why the manufacturer matters
Kenmore is known for four decades of appliances built by other manufacturers under one badge. Those design decisions determine how the appliance fails, and therefore the order in which a refrigerator should be examined.
A technician who follows the same routine on every appliance will find the right part eventually, after replacing several wrong ones. That is a slow and expensive way to work, and the customer is the one who pays for it. Knowing the manufacturer narrows the diagnostics to a few measurements.
Parts and pricing
We fit genuine Kenmore parts wherever they can still be sourced, and the ones that fail most often are carried on the van. If a part for an older appliance is no longer made, we will tell you and explain the alternatives rather than substituting something similar without mentioning it.
You are given the cost of the part and the cost of the labor as two separate lines, agreed before work begins and recorded on the invoice with the part number. Our labor is warranted for 30 days.
Have this ready when you call
The model number. On Kenmore appliances it sits on the door frame, behind the kick plate or on the rear panel, depending on what you own. If the plate has worn, photograph it and send it to us; we can usually read what is left. Once the model is confirmed, the parts known to fail on that exact appliance are loaded before the van leaves Stonegate.
